Rubix has an assortment of more than 800,000 articles and is a full range supplier for the distribution of industrial supplies. The company has expanded throughout Europe and is currently active in more than fifteen countries.
Rubix suffered from a large number of unanswered tenders. Like many companies in the technical business, Rubix matched tender requests manually in Excel. Manually matching the thousands of products per tender proved to be a time-consuming process. Due to the number of unanswered requests for tenders (RFT), resource planning at Rubix went haywire. As a result, Rubix had to refuse multiple RFT’s due to lack of time. This meant losing out on profit in the long run.
In a world where technology changes very quickly, Rubix could not stay behind. Therefore, they looked into Mydatamatcher. The Mydatamatcher matches
equivalent products based on product descriptions from different databases. An additional advantage is that Mydatamatcher can provide alternatives for these products. This leads to faster tenders with better margins.

During the pilot, Rubix learned that they could use Mydatamatcher for more than just matching tenders. The tool is also usable for other tasks that involve the comparing of products. This discovery led to new projects for matching products in their ERP system. After a successful pilot in the Netherlands and the UK, Rubix decided to deploy the Mydatamatcher in fifteen other countries within Europe.
Not only has Mydatamatcher given Rubix the ability to respond to all the requests for tenders it receives. It has also provided all other employees besides the product specialists the tools to be involved with the tender process. Even for the ones that are not experts in this field.
